10/10/10, 1/11/11, 11/11/11, 1/2/12, 12/12/12 Maui Hawaii Weddings

These are very popular future wedding dates to consider. Weddings on these dates fill up fast and you’ll need to reserve your Maui wedding and special event several months in advance.

Things to consider reserving at least one year before the actual event is your chosen wedding and reception venue. The beach could get really crowded. For those who are avoiding the mid-day sunburn, sunset weddings and sunset crowd, an early morning ceremony is a good alternative. Otherwise, plan a visit to the island a year in advance to scout for a secluded and unpopular beach site. Other than hotels and private properties, do not forget to check out restaurants with easy beach access. This is important especially if you want a beach wedding rather than a garden wedding. Nothing beats seeing the deep blue waters, touching the greenery around you, feeling the sand with your own hands, smelling the fresh unpolluted air and tasting fresh food & exotic drinks prepared for you in person rather than checking these things online.

The earliest date to consider is October 10, 2010 for wedding parties happening in the islands. It is a few more months away and the days seems to fly by so quickly that if you are not carefully checking your to-do-list, things may sell out or become unavailable.

With that in mind – here at L’amour Bridal Boutique, we highly recommend that you start taking a closer look at your rental formal wear needs. Our boutique is already receiving rental tuxedo and suit reservations for this particular date. We have had certain sizes and popular styles sell out in previous years especially during the similarly outrageous date of 08/08/08.

So… if you do not want to hear, “Sorry, but that —  is already taken” or ”As much as we would like to accommodate your request, — will not be in on time” or worst case scenario… ”I apologize, but that — is no longer available” - make your reservations and/or place your orders as soon as possible. Do not procrastinate!

Photo Shoot with KulorDS.Com at 505 Front Street and Lahaina Shores Beach

As the anticipation of the photo shoot grew, the day of the shoot came and went. Our Maui photo shoot wardrobes were consisted of prom, special occasion, pageantry, island wedding wear and traditional formal wedding attire.

We met Bryan, our photographer for the first time on the steps of 505 Front St. just in front of Gabby’s Pizzeria. He has this laid back, easy going attitude but with a passion for his trade. After the pleasantries and introductions, we scouted the surrounding areas and structures for great  colors, shapes and back drops for our images. Once we located our favorite spots, we stopped by at Lahaina Shores Hotel and inquired about using a portion or part of the hotel lobby or a remote area of the hotel where we can have our models change into a few of their different outfits. Upon inquiry, we were blessed and pleasantly rewarded by one of the managers a room that was just vacated on the ground floor level of the hotel. What timing! This really helped us walk in to the unit and get in on our next wardrobe change much quicker than if we had been assigned a room somewhere else. Changing in to the last outfit was very crucial because the sun was setting so quickly and if we did not have the easy access on this ground floor room, we would have missed our chances of capturing the beautiful images that were taken at the shoot.

Best time of Day to get married on Maui During the Fall/Winter Season.

Published by DJSMOOK on July 13th, 2010 - in Maui Formal Wear

One of the most common question is, “What time and season should I have the wedding ceremony on Maui?”

The Best time of day to get married here on Maui is in the late afternoon/early evening (6 PM/7 PM) when out doors at the beach or parks during the winter time. This is the coolest time of year and you won’t end up getting heat exhaustion. Temperatures range from the Lower 80s to the upper 60s during the fall and winter season.

If you need any advise on wedding planning, make up tips, update your measurements, get new shoes, etc. Feel free to contact us here at L’amour Bridal Boutique at the toll free number (800) 866-5313 and make an appointment before your wedding ceremony.

Feel free to start your Maui Wedding Planning now and book your trips out here now. Airline Fare during the autumn and winter are pretty low. Just remember to bring plenty of camera memory cards for your cameras!

Hope these tips will help you out.

Attending Weddings on Maui and what to wear in the Environment

Attending traditional weddings in Paradise is always a tough one. You may ask yourself, “What do I wear?” “What will the temperature be like?” It is all up to the bride and groom on what attire they want at the reception and after party. Speaking from experience in this field, for formal indoor weddings I usually wear Traditional Formal attire (full tuxedo and black dress shoes). For the women full gowns and accesories are expected. For outdoor (beach, parks, and Haleakala) weddings, I usually wear Aloha/Semi Formal attire. (Aloha Print Shirt, Khaki Pants or shorts, and dress shoes). When indoors the A/C can be chilly, where as when you’re outdoors it may be warm or cool.

Here on Maui think of where you want to have your wedding then think about the attire you want for yourself and the guests to wear in the environment you are in. You can make an appointment with us at Lamour Bridal Boutique to get measured and fitted for a dress or tux. Enjoy your wedding experience in Maui!

Would you color match or color coordinate?

Color schemes and themes are always a major factor and topic when preparing for an event or a wedding party.

Questions to ask include ones such as:  What is the color backdrop at the venue? How about accent colors? What about the colors of table covers and chairs? Should the linen colors match or be contrasting? Will you color match or color coordinate the wedding party’s outfit?

Preparing an event is sometimes stressful and it can get overwhelming or feel out of control. To avoid these situations and if budget allows, some people hire wedding coordinators.  Some get help from relatives and friends. Either way is great. Although, when it comes to outfitting your wedding party, consulting a wardrobe specialist is very important because of the obvious reasons.

A wardrobe specialist is someone who is very knowledgeable about the different patterns, textures and types of fabrics. She is familiar with the variety of styles and fashions that will work well (or not) on certain body silhouettes. A well-trained wardrobe specialist will also be able to tell you whether certain colors will be complimentary to your skin and hair color, or not.

Between color matching and color coordinating, the latter is the easier way to go.  To gain understanding, it helps to look at how a textile factory works. Fabrics are dyed in a certain amount of batches and usually come in a roll. Each batch might be slightly darker or lighter in hue from the previous batch. Different weaving and textures of fabrics will also affect the hue of dye colors when applied. If the fabric or swatch came from the same roll you are trying to match, then your color matching effort will be successful. Otherwise, color coordinating will be the best way to go.

When color coordinating, the colors do not need to match exactly. As long as the shade of color is within the range of colors you are looking at, whether it is slightly darker or lighter it will be just fine. The texture and pattern can also be different when color coordinating, as long as the color hue stays within that range. A good example of this is the different shades of pink. A bubble gum pink is a lighter shade than a fuchsia pink but is within the same range of the color pink. This should be okay as long as they are not in the same pattern or texture. Imagine a plain satin bubble gum pink dress and a paisley patterned vest & long tie…that is a perfect color coordinating success!

Here at Lamour Bridal Boutique, we have a wardrobe specialist on hand to assist you with this aspect of your event planning.  We will help you choose a color scheme that works best for you and your wedding party or event participants.
